Start Planning for the NAHB Legislative Conference

HELP Grant Winners

If you are planning to come to Washington, D.C. for the Spring Leadership Meetings in June, you will have the chance to participate in the NAHB Legislative Conference on June 12. This is your chance to talk to your members of Congress and share the Federation’s top priorities with policymakers. And NAHB staff will be there to make it easy. But you need to start talking to your local HBA staff now and reaching out to Congressional offices to set appointments.

Additional Issues Demanding Action Now

  • Help Your State Make the Right Choice on Energy Codes - NAHB members and hba should encourage state and local governments to apply for infrastructure bill grant money rather than Inflation Reduction Act money for energy code updates because the infrastructure bill funding does not mandate the adoption of the 2021 edition of the IECC.
  • Recruit Local Code Officials to Serve on ICC - Local code officials, especially from smaller jurisdictions, are underrepresented on the roster of International Code Council (ICC) voters, and their views on building codes typically align with builders. NAHB创建 一个导游 to help you talk to your local officials about joining ICC as voting members.
